Applying eyeshadow with
eye makeup tips and techniques

The most mysterious part of a makeup routine is applying eyeshadow in a way that compliments your overall look. The eye makeup application tips and techniques found on this page will help you get a headstart in learning how to do so. First and foremost, it is important that you use colors that coordinate with your skin tone. If you are applying eyeshadows that are too dark or light, they will distort your results, and that is definitely not what you want.

Also, you have to purchase quality professional makeup brushes. Those little sponge-tipped applicators just won’t cut it because they’re not made for blending eyeshadows. They will make your eyes look streaky and weird because they don't have tapered bristles.

Quality makeup brushes include those that are specifically made to blend, smudge, apply, contour, etc. You will get a chance to see examples of those brushes in the below videos. Once again, I want to stress the importance of the idea that practice makes perfect. If at first you don’t succeed, try again!

I will continue to search for videos for this page, although it is quite difficult to find ones that are nice and professional. I also ask that if you come across a video that you feel will enhance this page or the site in general, please use the contact form to let me know. Enjoy as you learn techniques in applying eyeshadows!

How to apply mascara

This is the ultimate mascara master class! The makeup artist begins with an eyelash curler, which helps to give the appearance of brighter eyes by curling eyelashes upwards. He continues by demonstrating a great and effective way to apply mascara and use a mascara comb – don’t blink!

How to apply false eyelashes
Eve Pearl

I know you want to take the appearance of those sultry eyes up a notch – try false eyelashes!! Here you will find a very thorough explanation of the process, and it is easy to understand. It is important for you to know that it’s easier to apply false lashes to someone else's eyes than to your own eyes, so take your time and have a few trial runs with the cheapest lashes you can find.

Don't spend your money on the expensive ones until you've mastered the technique first because applying lashes is a tricky process, and you will ruin the first few sets. You can use false lashes between 6-8 times (without applying extra mascara to them). They provide a great look for a night on the town!
