You will find before and after pictures of women representing every Asian ethnicity and the chapter on role models is very encouraging and exciting. If you are an Asian woman that has had to make the best of beauty tips tailored for women of European descent, Asian Beauty is the book for you! Review This book features mostly Euro-Asian women, so you will find it more suitable if you have that exact same ethnic background. The gorgeous models have very chiseled features and heavy eyelids, so it’s easier to apply makeup to them and have them look flawlessly beautiful. This book does not provide a variety of methods if you have creaseless eyes (monolids). I will admit, if you do have creaseless eyes, you will find the “smokey eye” technique to be very useful. Keep in mind that not every smokey eye technique is performed with black (or dark grey) eyeshadow. You can use mauve or light grey for a more natural, everyday look. Margaret does discuss the different Asian features, but there isn’t any mention about how to emphasize those features. The book includes very colorful and modern pictures, and the models are absolutely stunning. You will find Asian women of different ethnicities within this book, but the how-to regarding application of makeup to their different features is a little vague. I definitely recommend this book if you are Euro-Asian because the book showcases models with your similar features. You will learn a lot, and your friends will love your makeup! I must say that it is very beautifully illustrated, but it doesn’t include color descriptions for the foundation colors used on the models. However, there are descriptions for other makeup products such as lipstick, eyeshadows, and blush. If you tend to stick with very simple makeup applications, this book will surprise you with significant results. The instructions are very down-to-earth and easy to use. You will find great examples for different facial features, and Taylor provides information on how to emphasize those features. You will find this to be one of the most empowering books you’ve ever purchased! It is truly a must have!

Surprisingly, there is content on how to work with close-set eyes, wide-set eyes, an undefined bridge, and how to give your face more definition. The varieties of skin color within the Asian culture are addressed, and there are great tips about which makeup colors look great on each skin color. Makeup for Asian Women contains lots of photographs that show you step-by-step how to apply your makeup. If you’re a beginner, this is a great asian beauty book for you as well. It covers everything from how to use concealer to how to shape eyebrows and fill them in. It even covers the different lip shapes, how to apply blush, and makeup looks for different occasions. I hope you find this book to be very enjoyable and helpful. The advice is clear, and contains information you won’t find anywhere else. I highly recommend it!!
