Beautiful Lips that last
Keeping those beautiful lips intact throughout the day can become a chore especially when reapplying lipstick isn’t convenient. Don’t you love attending an event and not having to worry about what your lips look like? You know that once your lipstick starts to wear off, your entire look will go downhill from there because the presence of lipstick compliments the entire look. Get ready for what I’m about to share with you about maintaining that “lip confidence” while you’re on the go.
The first thing you want to do to have long lasting beautiful lips is to make sure your lips are exfoliated so that you won’t have any dry, flaky skin. The best way to exfoliate your lips is to wet them and allow them to soften for a few minutes – the best time to do this is right after you cleanse your face because the lips are moist and soft. Then take a toothbrush and lightly rub the bristles over your lips to disturb the flaky skin. After that, take a washcloth and wipe away any flakes that may be present.
Next you want to apply chapstick to moisturize your lips, but make sure to blot off the excess because you want the lipstick to adhere to your lips and not the chapstick itself. For the next step you want to apply a little bit of concealer, foundation, or lip primer onto the lips to serve as a base to help the lip color last longer. Now using a lip brush, apply your lipstick onto the lips – the less emollient the better for staying on. Using a lip brush ensures precise application and even coverage. If there’s a chance you extended the lip color onto the outside border of your lips, you can ‘clean up’ the area with a small concealer brush and concealer. What you want to do is lightly trace around the outline of your lips with concealer to get rid of any excess lipstick.
It makes for a nice highlight but make sure you don’t use too much concealer or that it’s not too light, or else it will look animated. Make sure you blend the concealer outward so that it doesn’t appear like you have a bright line outlining your lips. Moving further along . . . you can now dab clear lip gloss onto your lips using a lip brush. Blot off any excess so that it doesn’t disturb your lip color. You can replace the clear lip gloss with a lipstick sealer, or blot a little loose powder onto your lips to set the color.
Now you can pucker up! I hope you enjoy your beautiful lips as much as I do mine.
