The Best Bronzer is key for acquiring that golden glow
The best bronzers come in the form of bronzing powders and liquids. Both can be hard to apply and will end up looking overly done and fake if you choose the wrong shade or use too much. The goal is to get that golden glow on the areas of your face that the sun would normally hit. Remember that it’s not foundation, so don’t get overwhelmed. Just think of it as “icing on the cake”. For that sunkissed glow, check out these bronzers!
Choosing the best bronzer color
Make sure your best bronzer shade isn't too dark, because it’s not meant to color your skin, but to simply add a glow or shimmer to it. You should never choose one that is more than 2 shades darker than your natural skin tone. Most cosmetic lines have a variety of shades to choose from, so test each one on your skin to be sure.
How to apply your best bronzer
Keep foundation to a minimum or it will make your complexion look orange and "dirty" when it is applied. A cream or gel works best on dry skin, but if you have an oily complexion then a bronzing powder will give a better effect. If you are using a powder kind, you must apply it with the correct kind of brush - a wide and fluffy powder brush will work best. Pat the brush into the color then tap off any excess. Apply to the cheeks, forehead, chin and nose and blend well. If you wear blush, dust the powder on top of the blush to provide a warm golden look. If your complexion is pale, apply a little blush to your cheeks as well to give a more natural looking glow. Use a light hand, especially if you have a lighter complexion. If your skin is excessively oily like mine, you may want to pass. Four years ago I purchased a bronzing liquid, and it looked beautiful on my skin until my face started getting oily later on during the day. I went from a beautiful golden glow to a beautiful golden super-shiny glow! It was awful! I realized later that purchasing it wasn't the smartest choice, so to avoid wasting my money I mixed it with my body lotion and applied it to my arms, chest and legs during the summer to add a warm highlight. I received a lot of compliments, and I must say I looked extra cute in my shorts and tank tops!
Liquid Bronzer Tips
If you’re interested in using a liquid bronzer, be sure to apply it with your fingers. Rub fingers together to get even color distribution, then apply it to the apples of your cheeks and blend with circular motions. Make sure you blend towards the hairline too. The remaining color should be added to the nose, forehead and brow bones to balance the tone of your face. When applying any kind of bronzing product it is best to start with a light application and build from there. If you make a mistake and apply too much, wipe off with a cotton ball or apply a little light face powder on top to soften the color. Want a dewy look? Dab a sheer gel bronzer over gel blush, or blend a bronzer highlighting stick along your cheekbones. This method is recommended if you have drier skin. Skin that is naturally tanned or olive tends to get better results with bronzing products. While it can be fun to use them with glitter or shimmer included, don’t overdo it or else you’ll look like a bronze statue. It compliments darker complexions very well in highlighting features, but if you want to use blush, make sure to choose a pigment that won’t get lost in your complexion. Deep roses and apricot shades look great on darker skin. I hope you find this information to be clear and beneficial. I do want to emphasize that wearing bronzing products is a personal choice. It’s a great bonus, but don’t feel the need to add it to your makeup routine. If you’re wondering whether or not it will benefit you, then stop by your favorite cosmetics counter to sample one of their testers.
