The journey to the perfect Bridal Hair
Choosing a bridal hairstyle for the day of your wedding can be a complicated process, but not if you take the proper steps. First and foremost you want to choose your bridal dress because you need to choose a hairstyle that works well with your dress and compliments it. Hopefully you already have a good hairstylist that can create different bridal hairstyles. If not, the perfect way to find a good hairstylist is by asking the staff at the bridal boutique where you’re buying your dresses from. Second, ask previously married friends – of course the ones whose taste you love! They will serve as another source for you in choosing your hairstylist.
If those two options don’t work, do internet searches for bridal hair and provide your location to see what results are generated. One action that will help you in the long run is to buy a few bridal magazines beforehand to get an idea of which hairstyles work best with certain dress styles. Once you locate your stylist, have a trial-run with her to see if you like her work. It’s a good idea to have a trial-run with the bridesmaids as well; that is if you want their hair styled the same way for the wedding. Keep in mind that they all need the necessary length for the style, which may include investing in hair extensions. You want to make sure that you are satisfied with both your hairstyle and the hairstyle of the bridesmaids as well.
Now this is one important factor to figure out . . . decide (on the day of the wedding) if you want everyone to meet at the hairstylists’ salon, or if she can travel to your location. If you have to meet at her salon, please know that you have to book her for the entire amount of time it will take to complete everyone’s hair. If she has to travel to you, work out with her the specifics of time, mileage, and the number of women who will get their hair done. One rule of thumb to keep in mind: The bride (you) will have your hair done last because it’s imperative for your look to be ‘fresh’ for the wedding.
Bridal hairstyles for long hair
Long hair has the perfect amount for a classic bridal updo, which is where you start off by teasing hair located at the crown of the head, and while leaving a side section for bangs, the remaining hair is combed towards the back and twisted upwards toward the head. Hair pins are used to keep the twist in place and secure. The remaining hair left at the top can be tucked underneath into the twist, or curled and left exposed.
Once pinned into place, take a comb and smooth the hair along the side edges to ensure a polished look. The benefit of this hairstyle is that it’s simple, easy to-do, and will work well in any weather you encounter the day of your wedding. It’s perfect for any style of wedding dress you choose and you can always dress it up with decorative hair pins. This look works well for someone who has the perfect neckline and can show off her neck with confidence.
Asian Bridal Bun
The Asian Bridal Bun is a wedding hairstyle that will work on anyone with long hair and is the simplest style you can manufacture on your own. Start by brushing all the hair back with a paddle brush and spray so that hairs stay in place. Gather all hair at the top of the crown and secure with a thick rubber band. Get a hair donut and place around the rubber band, and then spread all hair around so that it’s covering the donut. Work the hair around and tuck underneath the donut – secure afterwards with hair pins located at the bottom.
This is another style that works well with longer hair and is perfect for any style of dress that you choose because of its simplicity. I do however recommend wearing false eyelashes for an extra pop, and having some fabulous accessories. When I think of the style of possible wedding dresses, I love to see this hairstyle paired with dress styles that are short, or more modern and stylish.
Bridal hairstyles for curly hair
If you have naturally curly hair, you can wear whatever wedding hairstyle you want, it just depends on how much work you want to invest. If you choose to wear your hair straight, start off by prepping the hair by curling and straightening the hair with a large-barreled curling iron for nice and easy flowing curls. From there you can proceed to style your hair in any style that you want, but the prep work must be done beforehand.
If you choose to wear your hair curly, then it’s a good idea to choose a stylist who can style curly hair easily because it does take a great amount of control to get all your hair in place. Once you’ve chosen your hairstyle the rest will be a breeze!
