Products that work for Chapped Lips
Honestly, chapped lips are a nuisance! I know my lips are chapped a bit more during the winter season, but I generally have it year round. Nothing irritates me more than looking into the mirror and seeing my fabulous lipstick or lipgloss sitting on top of those flakes. This is something that isn’t new to me, and it’s pretty common for a lot of us. Chapped lips are caused by a variety of reasons such as temperature (seasonal) change, certain medications, dehydration, and licking your lips. Those are some of the main causes and we’ll cover some remedies to help you out. As the old saying goes, “where there’s a will, there’s a way”, and with that said, I’m going to share with you some of my personal favorites in treating those dry, pesky flakes:
Tea bags – Start by cleansing your lips with face wash to make sure they’re clean. Wet the tea bag (feel free to drink it first if you want) and place it on your lips. The antioxidants help heal those problem areas on your lips and bring them back to a healthy state.
DuWop Lip Venom Plumping Paste – When you rub this on your lips, it exfoliates them and gets rid of the dead skin.
Sunscreen – Using lip products that contain sunscreen is essential because it prevents the sun’s rays from drying out our lips. Specific products that are on the market today include Burt’s Bees Raspberry Lipgloss. This lip product contains beeswax which is more penetrating and nourishing to the skin. Burt’s Bees also has a beeswax lip balm that doesn’t contain any artificial fragrance if that’s your preference.
MAC Cosmetics tendertones and lip conditioner provide a great variety if you want a more glossy and tinted look, versus just going for pure nourishment. No matter what your need is, you will find it in one of these two products. Now I’m going to introduce you to a product that is great for kids and pets alike . . . it is Bag Balm. Bag Balm helps out everything that is chapped and perfectly emulsifies onto the lips once applied.
Those are my tips for chapped lips – how you can help them and how you can get soft lips when they are chapped.
