Ethnic Cosmetics and Mainstream Cosmetic line expansionThere are several ethnic cosmetics companies available today, but sometimes I find it hard to locate them to purchase the products I want. Some of them aren’t conveniently located, and they may not have all the products I need for my skin type or tone. Normally, when I go to the mall I’ll see one or two lines in the cosmetics department, but that’s simply not enough. The demographics have changed over the years, and ethnic women are spending significantly more money on cosmetic products like never before.
Part of this activity stems from the fact that ethnic women like Lucy Liu, Jennifer Lopez, and Beyonce Knowles are catching the world’s attention, and mainstream cosmetic lines are taking notice. These companies are now expanding their lines to include a larger variety of skin undertones, and are featuring ethnic women in ad campaigns, as well as having them serve as spokesmodels.
Another amazing fact is that these celebrity entertainers typically work with makeup artists who are sensitive to their needs and wants. Those makeup artists realize that they want to wear foundation and other cosmetic products that compliment their skin tone and doesn’t appear too light/dark or red for that matter. They also understand the different skin types and issues that exist within these different ethnic groups. Fortunately for you (and me), a lot of these same makeup artists have started their own cosmetic lines with our preferences in mind. We no longer have to struggle as much to find the perfect products for our faces because there is much more available to us now. My goal is to provide some information to you so that you will have a solid foundation of where to begin and know that there are options. Not only did I find ethnic cosmetic companies that are founded by members of minority culture and produce items for your particular complexion, but I found other ones that have a broad line of shades, so you will feel better about finding the perfect match. I understand that you want to know the best resource from which to purchase your makeup. Not every cosmetic line listed will include colors that are suitable for your skin, so don’t be afraid to experiment a few times before you find the line that suits you best.
